Sri Lanka All-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga achieved a feat which has never been done before in ODI history, when he scored a counter-attacking 74 runs of 60 balls.
In his previous ODI innings Hasaranga scored 80 not-out against the West Indies in the Caribbean. In that occasion too, Hasaranga came to bat at No.8
With these two attacking innings from Hasaranga at No.8, he becomes the only batsman to have scored 70 or more runs in consecutive ODI innings while batting at position No. 8 or lower.
When Hasaranga scored 80* of 70 balls against West Indies at North Sound in March, it became the highest score by a Sri Lankan batting at No.8. His 74 yesterday against Bangladesh is the 2nd best.
