Former Pakistan Wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal has praised the ability of the Indian team to play simultaneous tours in two different countries in two separate formats.
India are scheduled to play a limited overs series in Sri Lanka in July while most of their top choice players will stay in UK after the World Test Championship Final, to take part in the 5-match Test series against England. 1st Test between India and England is scheduled to start on the 4th August.
“Full credit to India’s mindset. Two teams will be playing at a time, one in England and one in Sri Lanka. Their cricket culture is so strong that they can field even three international teams at the same time. This is because they have made no compromises at the grassroot level,” Akmal said in his YouTube Channel “Catch and Bat with Kamran Akmal”
“Even if India sends a C team to Sri Lanka they will win. The Lankans recently lost to Bangladesh.” Akmal went on to add, reiterating that he is confident that India can easily win in Sri Lanka even without their regular players.
