Sri Lankan batsman Kusal Janith Perera is doubtful for the India series due to an injury to his shoulder.
Kusal Perera injured his shoulder in the England ODI series and played with the pain due to unavailability of a proper replacement in the squad.
“Medical staff have given an injection to him so he didn’t practice with the team yesterday and today. We have to take a call tomorrow, but it’s not looking good” a SLC official told NewsWire.
Kusal Perera’s unavailability will further weaken Sri Lanka’s batting unit with only Dhananjaya de Silva now available as a senior batsman in the squad.
Accroding to sources Kusal Perera has also being officially informed that he will not captain the side in the ODI and T20I series.
Meanwhile, Sri Lanka head coach Micky Arthur and bowling coach Chaminda Vaas joined the Sri Lanka team’s practice session today after ending their qurantine. (NewsWire)
